Workshops

SpiritWood Natural Building will not be offering classes until 2021. Times, locations and cost will be posted on this page as soon as we know. For inquiries on what we do or for consultation work contact us at spiritwoodnaturalbuilding@gmail.com

We highly suggest any natural building or other permaculture related questions get posted to the Permies forums which will undoubtedly be answered by a number of knowledgeable individuals.

  1. Hi,
I watched your video on YouTube and was very much impressed.
Thank you for being so generous and letting us into your home.
My question is about the raised beds. How did you build those?

    1. Hi, those beds are ferrocement. You can find some great instruction online, but basically they are expanded steel lathe that are then plastered with a portland cement. You can do very thin applications which means the amount of cement you need is very little.

  2. Hello, I found you through a youtube video from Tiny House Giant Journey. I adore cob homes and think what you are doing is wonderful. My 17 year old son and I will be taking a pre-graduation trip to Glacier and other sites in MT and SD summer of 2021 and I would love to schedule it around one of your workshops. Do you email schedules? my email address is hultz_murphy@yahoo.com (there is an underscore between the two last names that sometimes doesn't show up when I'm typing it.) Thank you, Shannon Murphy - Minot, ND

    1. Hello, we don't have anything online yet, but I would do as much research on Permies.com as you can before you build. We didn't take any classes on natural building, but had to teach ourselves. Good luck!
